Will Vaibhav and Shubman open on Ireland tour? This veteran confirmed Suryavanshi’s T20I debut!

Rajasthan Royals: A news is coming out about the young star Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who created a sensation with his batting on the IPL stage, which has created a new discussion in the Indian cricket world. Veteran cricket expert Ian Bishop has placed such a big bet on the ability of this player that he has called Vaibhav the opener of the future, ignoring established names like Yashasvi Jaiswal. Is this 14-15 year old boy really very close to wearing the blue jersey of Team India? The arguments given by Bishop regarding the pairing of Suryavanshi and Shubhman Gill will surprise every cricket lover.

Former West Indies fast bowler Ian Bishop believes that IPL’s rising star Vaibhav Suryavanshi is now fully ready to enter the field of international cricket. Supporting this young player of Rajasthan Royals, he said that he can soon make his debut in India’s T20I team.

Bishop includes Suryavanshi in India T20I squad

Bishop included Suryavanshi in his alternate India T20I squad and showed no hesitation in selecting him as an opener along with Shubman Gill. Interestingly, Bishop also ranked Suryavanshi higher than his Rajasthan Royals teammate Yashasvi Jaiswal. According to reports, Suryavanshi can make his debut for India during the T20I tour against Ireland in June.

Vaibhav was fielded for the opening along with Shubman.

Speaking to ESPNcricinfo, Bishop said, ‘I am selecting three openers in my team. I want a left-right combination wherever possible. Shubman Gill is in good form, that’s why I have selected him. The other opener, who is left-handed, is Vaibhav Suryavanshi. I think he is ready for the next level now and I have also selected Prabhsimran Singh. Priyansh Arya was also an option, but Prabh’s form has been better this season.

Bishop also included Shreyas Iyer in the team for his excellent performance in the last two IPL seasons. Despite leading Kolkata Knight Riders to the title in 2024 and Punjab Kings to the final in 2025, Iyer is out of India’s T20I squad from December 2023.

Among the bowlers, Bishop chose experienced and in-form IPL players. Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Krunal Pandya and Yuzvendra Chahal were his first choices, while he also made special mention of Mohsin Khan, Prince Yadav and Prasidh Krishna.
