In the podcast, Soha said, “Rabindranath Tagore had about 14 siblings. His brother Gaganendranath Tagore, who was a famous painter and brought Cubism to India, was my maternal grandmother’s great grandfather. Thus, Rabindranath Tagore became my great grandfather. He was very close to my maternal grandmother and my maternal grandmother often spent time with him at Shantiniketan. We also have some of his photographs. He also taught my maternal grandmother Ira “I had written two poems for the same, and later some signed documents were thrown away by my maternal grandfather, which made my maternal grandmother very angry.”

Rabindranath Tagore was born on 7 May 1861 in Kolkata. His birth anniversary is celebrated every year on the 25th day of the month of Baisakh according to the Bengali calendar.
He was the first Asian to win the Nobel Prize in Literature, which he received in 1913 for his famous poetry collection ‘Gitanjali’. Apart from this, he also wrote the national anthem of India ‘Jana Gana Mana’. His contribution is also considered important in the fields of music, art and education.
