IPL 2026, Jofra Archer: England fast bowler Joffra Archer, playing for Rajasthan Royals in the 52nd match of IPL 2026, made an unwanted record in his name in the IPL. Opening the bowling for Rajasthan in the match against Gujarat Titans at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Saturday (May 9), Archer bowled the first over, in which he bowled a total of 11 balls. With this, he has become the first foreign bowler in IPL history to bowl an over of 11 balls.

Jofra Archer, who came to bowl the first over for Rajasthan Royals against Gujarat Titans, bowled 11 balls. Archer bowled 4 wides and 1 no-ball before completing 6 legal balls. With this, Archer became the first foreign bowler and the 7th bowler overall in IPL history to bowl an over of 11 balls. Before this, 6 Indian bowlers have done this in IPL. The unwanted record of bowling the first over of 11 balls in IPL was registered in the name of Mohammad Siraj.

He made this record against Mumbai Indians at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium while playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 2023 season. In the same season, Tushar Deshpande also equaled this record while playing for Chennai Super Kings.
At the same time, in IPL 2025, Shardul Thakur, Sandeep Sharma and Hardik Pandya also bowled overs of 11 balls. Before Archer, Arshdeep Singh has also bowled an over of 11 balls in IPL 2026. The interesting thing is that he also made this unwanted record against Gujarat Titans.

Sai Sudarshan made a great start by hitting a four against Jofra Archer on the very first ball of the match. After this Archer bowled the next ball wide. No run was scored on the second legal ball of the over, but Archer made a no-ball on the third ball. Archer did not look in rhythm even on the free-hit and he bowled another wide ball. During this, a four also came, due to which 5 runs were added to the account of Gujarat Titans. After this, Archer bowled two more wide balls consecutively. Then Shubman Gill took a run on the fourth legal ball of the over. Sudarshan scored 2 runs on the 5th valid ball, while he scored one run on the last ball of the over.
