Pappa Essiedu shares ‘Harry Potter’ moment with Nick Frost at BAFTA

Pappa Essiedu poked fun at his HBO Harry Potter co-star Nick Frost as they appeared on-stage to present an award at the BAFTA TV Awards.

On Sunday, May 10, the upcoming Harry Potter series stars Essiedu, who stars as Severus Snape, and Frost, who stars as Rubeus Hagrid, honor the award for Supporting Actress to Adolescence star Christine Tremarco.

Before they announced the nominees, Essiedu couldn’t hold back as they referred to Frost as Hagrid.

“Some truly exceptional performances, let’s take a look at the nominees Hagrid,” he said, turning to his co-star.

“My name is Nick,” the Shaun of the Dead star replied, “I sat next to you at the friggin’ readthrough.”

Essiedu and Frost stepped out together for a rare public appearance as excitement continues to build around the television adaptation of Harry Potter, which is expected to arrive on screens this Christmas.

The highly anticipated series will also star John Lithgow, Janet McTeer and Bel Powley, with the story fronted by a new generation of young actors. The project has already secured a second-season renewal before the first instalment has aired.
