Under this scheme, the government is providing subsidy of up to Rs 54,000 per unit, due to which the financial burden on cattle farmers will become negligible.
Investment of Rs 6,000 and government help of Rs 54,000
Generally, the cost of setting up a small unit of goat farming (like 10 goats and 1 goat) is around Rs 60,000. Under the new policy of Uttar Pradesh government…
Total Cost: Rs 60,000 (estimated)
Government subsidy (90%): Rs 54,000
Beneficiary’s share (10%): Rs 6,000 only
This scheme has been specially designed for those marginal farmers and unemployed youth who lack large capital. The subsidy amount will be sent directly to the beneficiary’s bank account through DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer).

Mathematics of Profit: Why is this a great option?
Goat is called ‘poor man’s cow’. There is less risk and more profit in following this. Goat milk is full of medicinal properties, which is always in demand in the market. Apart from this, due to festivals like Eid and meat industry, a huge amount is received in lump sum from the sale of goats. The government aims to make lakhs of families of the state financially self-reliant in the next two years through this scheme.
