Gang rape of a minor in Ekma, FIR registered against three accused, one accused in custody; SIT formed to investigate the matter

Ekma/Chhapra. A case of gang rape of a minor girl has come to light in Ekma police station area of ​​the district. In this regard, the police have started taking immediate action by registering an FIR in Ekma police station. Considering the seriousness of the case, one illegal child has been detained, while continuous raids are being conducted to arrest the other accused.

According to the press release issued by the Office of Senior Superintendent of Police, Saran, on the night of May 10, 2026, a written application was given at Ekma police station by the family members of the minor victim, resident of a village in Daudpur police station area, on the basis of which a case was registered under relevant sections and investigation was started. In the application, the victim has been accused of rape and a total of three accused have been identified in the case.

Considering the sensitivity of the incident, the Senior Superintendent of Police himself inspected the incident site on Sunday night. On his instructions, investigation has been started by forming a Special Investigation Team (SIT) under the leadership of Sub-Divisional Police Officer, Sadar-2. The FSL team has inspected the incident site and collected necessary scientific evidence. Medical examination of the victim has also been done.

According to the police, legal and fair action is being taken in the matter. Keeping in mind the protection of identity and privacy of the victim, personal details related to her have not been made public. It has been told that a 17-year-old girl student from a village in Daudpur police station area used to come to study in a library run in Hansrajpur of Nagar Panchayat Ekma Bazar. On Sunday, she had come from her home to Ekma-Hansrajpur Library with an acquaintance, a boy younger than her. After this, two other boys riding a bike from Ekma-Manjhi Road near Ganjpar-Hansrajpur petrol pump kidnapped her and her alleged lover and took them to the bushes near Kohargarh village at knifepoint. It is alleged that after reaching Jahan, he called another friend of his by calling on his mobile. Two boys along with him fled from the spot after gang-raping the girl. After this, the victim was taken to her house by a village boy she knew. After this the family members informed the police.

As soon as information about the incident was received, Ekma police station swung into action as per the instructions of the Senior Superintendent of Police. Late last night, a case has been registered under relevant sections of BNS including POCSO Act. The police sent the victim to Sadar Hospital and Court for medical examination and to record her statement before the Magistrate. Meanwhile, on Monday morning the FSL team reached the spot and collected evidence samples.
Ekma Police Station Head Ram Balak Yadav, taking the matter seriously, the police team is continuously raiding possible places to arrest the accused. According to the information received, the incident took place in Ekma police station area, while the victim is said to be a resident of a village in Daudpur police station area. The police is engaged in a thorough investigation of the entire matter. It has been told that on Monday evening the DIG also reached Ekma after taking information about the case and gave necessary instructions to the police.
