Heat havoc increases, heat wave warning in 6 districts, Ratlam again reaches 45 degrees
Bhopal . As soon as the storm and rain stopped in Madhya Pradesh, the scorching heat has started showing its effect again. On Monday, the effect of heat wave was seen in many districts including Ratlam and Jhabua. The temperature in Ratlam was recorded at 45 degrees Celsius for the second consecutive day. The Meteorological Department has issued a heat wave alert for Tuesday in Ujjain, Dhar, Alirajpur, Barwani, Ratlam and Jhabua.
According to the Meteorological Department, the effect of intense heat and heat wave will continue in Indore, Ujjain and Narmadapuram divisions for the next four days. The maximum temperature in these areas is expected to reach 45 degrees. Ratlam, Neemuch and Mandsaur of Ujjain division may remain the hottest. There are chances of intense heat in 49 districts of the state including Bhopal, Indore, Jabalpur and Gwalior. The temperature in most districts is likely to remain between 43 to 44 degrees Celsius.
The highest temperature of this season was recorded in Indore on Monday at 43.2 degrees Celsius. Last year on May 1, the temperature here was 42 degrees, which clearly shows that this time the heat is becoming more intense. In other major cities, the maximum temperature of Ujjain was 43 degrees, Bhopal 41.2 degrees, Jabalpur 40.8 degrees and Gwalior 39 degrees Celsius. After Ratlam, Shajapur was the hottest, where the mercury reached 44.2 degrees.
Apart from this, the temperature was recorded at 44 degrees in Dhar, 42.6 degrees in Khargone, 42.5 degrees in Khandwa, 41.5 degrees in Guna and 41.4 degrees in Raisen, Sagar, Narmadapuram and Sheopur. The temperature also crossed 40 degrees in Narsinghpur, Khajuraho, Chhindwara, Damoh, Mandla, Betul and Naugaon.
It is noteworthy that there were continuous storms and rains in the state from April 30 to May 10. The weather changed in the early days of May due to the effect of western disturbances, cyclones and trough lines, but now the heat has gained momentum again. The Meteorological Department has advised people to remain alert. The department has appealed to drink enough water, keep the body hydrated, avoid strong afternoon sun and wear light colored cotton clothes. Children and the elderly have been advised to take special precautions.
