Earlier had told about AI edited video, now Dinakaran expelled the same MLA from the party

A big political drama was witnessed in Tamil Nadu politics on Tuesday when Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (AMMK) chief TTV Dhinakaran expelled his party’s lone MLA S Kamaraj from the party. A few days ago, a video of Kamaraj went viral in which he purportedly claimed to support TVK. At that time, Dinakaran had dismissed this video as AI edited.

The action came at a time when Kamaraj has extended support to Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay-led TVK government in the Assembly. Dhinakaran has also issued a statement on his expulsion from the party. Dinakaran said in that statement that such an act is unilateral and against party discipline.

He said, ‘Kamaraj’s move is a blatant betrayal of AMMK workers and all those from the alliance parties who worked for his victory in the elections, as well as those who reposed trust in him and voted for him.’ He said that hence Kamaraj is being removed from all posts and primary membership of the party from today.

What is the whole matter?

Actually, the TVK government was busy gathering support from allies and other MLAs to strengthen its majority. Meanwhile, the party contacted AMMK MLA S Kamaraj. TVK later claimed that Kamaraj had agreed to support the government. It was also said on behalf of the party that the MLA has submitted the letter of support, which will help the government in numerical strength.

The matter gained momentum when a video went viral on social media. In the video, Kamaraj was reportedly seen signing some document. TVK called this proof of support. However, TTV Dhinakaran termed this video as completely fake and edited by AI. He raised questions in the press conference as to who recorded the video and where it was shot. He claimed that this entire story has been prepared to create political pressure.
