‘Why paper leak only in BJP ruled states’, Sibal gave year by year figures
The medical entrance exam NEET-UG-2026 has been canceled on Tuesday. National Testing Agency (NTA) has taken this action after allegations of leaking of question paper of NEET-UG-2026. After the cancellation of the examination, the Central Government ordered the CBI to conduct a detailed investigation into these irregularities. Meanwhile, the opposition accused the Modi government at the Center and the BJP of playing with the future of lakhs of children.
On the allegations of cancellation of NEET exam and paper leak, Rajya Sabha MP Kapil Sibal said that it has become a trend in the Modi government that when the examinations are held, the papers get leaked. Making serious allegations against BJP, he said that it is also interesting to see from where these examinations are being leaked?

Paper leak in BJP governments
Former Union Minister Sibal said, ‘Papers are being leaked in Bihar, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Gujarat and Uttarakhand, all these states have BJP governments. Why are papers being leaked only in BJP governments? Papers were leaked in 2016, 2019, 2021, 2024 and now 2026.
Did the previous investigations yield any results?
He asked whether the investigations conducted regarding the examinations which were cancelled, did those investigations yield any results? Sibal said, ‘Things like paper leak will not happen without the consent of those in power. This is 2-3 days old news, so why did they wait so long? FIR should be registered immediately and handed over to CBI for investigation. They have Rajasthan government as well as CBI and they will not catch the culprits.

‘Illiterate people have become chief ministers’
Country’s renowned lawyer Kapil Sibal termed the government as insensitive and asked whether anyone thinks about the students? People come from outside and children from poor families also come to appear for the examination. He said that students will now have to work hard again. They will have to take the exam again.
Sibal said that all this is happening in the Education Ministry. The Education Minister should resign. He said that when illiterate people become Chief Ministers, paper leaks are inevitable. Meanwhile, CBI has registered a case in connection with the leak of question paper of NEET UG 2026 exam held on May 3.
