Railway DA Hike: After the Central Government, Railway Board has given great news to lakhs of its employees and pensioners. Railway Board has also increased Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR) by 2 percent. Along with this DA hike, four months’ arrears will also be given to the employees. After this decision, there will be an increase in the salary of employees and monthly pension of pensioners. After the approval of the Central Government, now the Railway Board has officially implemented this increase.

The special thing is that this increase will be considered applicable from January 1, 2026, that is, pensioners will also get the arrears of the previous months.

This follows the decision taken by the Union Cabinet last month to approve an increase of 2 percentage points in DA and DR for central employees and pensioners to mitigate the impact of inflation.

Railway employees benefit
Its benefit will be available to all working railway employees, pensioners and family pensioners who come under the purview of the 7th Pay Commission.

All India Consumer Price Index
Dearness allowance is revised twice a year. The first from January 1 and the second from July 1. Changes in DA are made on the basis of All India Consumer Price Index (AICPI) data so that the impact of inflation can be reduced. In April, DA of all central government employees was also increased by 2%.
