Delhi Metro: Delhi Metro will run 24 additional trips from tomorrow. After PM Narendra Modi’s appeal to save petrol and diesel, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation i.e. DMRC has decided to increase the frequency of Delhi Metro. However, the facility of 24 additional trips will be available only every Monday. At the same time, Delhi government has also started the campaign “Mera Bharat, Meri Bhagidari”. Under this, Metro Day will be celebrated every Monday.
According to DMRC officials, there are plans to start additional train services on other days also if needed. To strengthen the security arrangements, additional security personnel will be deployed at the stations, new ticket counters and modern testing equipment will be installed.
According to DMRC, due to energy shortage in the country and after PM Modi’s appeal, the interest of the people of the national capital Delhi in Delhi Metro has increased. Keeping in mind the possible trend, DMRC has decided to operate 24 additional train trips through 6 additional trains every Monday from 18th May 2026. Also, additional services will be run on other days as per requirement as per requirement. DMRC said that Delhi Metro is now providing better connectivity to major markets, government offices, corporate areas, educational institutions and tourist places of Delhi-NCR. Along with this, multimodal connections to ISBT, Airport, RRTS, Noida and Gurugram Rapid Metro have also been strengthened.

- Deploying additional security personnel.
- Operation of additional ticket counters.
- Activating additional door frame metal detector (DFMD) and baggage scanner.
- Reducing waiting time at frisking points.
- To ensure smooth movement of passengers during peak periods.
- Easy connectivity to destinations
Facility through Sarathi app, 1 lakh passengers will be benefited
According to DMRC, last mile connectivity network has been developed at 160 metro stations. About 1 lakh passengers are benefiting from this every day. E-auto, e-rickshaw, bike taxi, cab and bicycle services have been made part of last mile connectivity. DMRC is providing door-to-door integrated journey planning facility through Sarathi App.
