Census 2027 Self Enumeration Begins In Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel Fills Out The Form Himself

Under the nationwide Census 2027, self-enumeration facility has started in Gujarat from Sunday. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel formally launched the self-counting in the state. He requested the people to actively participate in this important national work by conducting a self-count.

Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel filled the details of himself and his family on the census platform as per Census-2027. The Chief Minister has urged the citizens of the state to actively participate in this work of national importance by doing their self-count within the stipulated period of 15 days from today till May 31 and contribute in building a strong, inclusive and developed India.

Self-counting facility will be available in Gujarat till May 31. After this, the field work of related house listing and house counting will be conducted from June 1 to June 30.

It is noteworthy that Census 2027 is being conducted with the use of digital mediums for the first time, while the traditional door-to-door enumeration process will also continue to ensure comprehensive and accurate coverage. During field visits enumerators (survey officers) are collecting data digitally through a special mobile application.

In this phase, information related to residential status, family details, facilities available and assets held by the families is being collected through a questionnaire consisting of 33 notified questions. This data will provide an important basis for evidence-based planning and effective implementation of welfare and development programmes.

The self-enumeration facility, which has been introduced for the first time in census operations across the country, is getting encouraging response from the public. More than 1.44 crore households have so far completed self-enumeration through the official portal in 25 states. This initiative is an important step towards digitalization of census operations and provides an opportunity to residents to participate in the census process conveniently and securely.
