A man allegedly killed his parents and two nephews and nieces with an axe, in Chhattisgarh’s Janjgir-Champa district. According to the police, the accused along with his son committed the crime over a property dispute.
Janjgir-Champa: The Charhare murder case that took place in Shivrinarayan police station area of Chhattisgarh has shocked the area. Police investigation revealed that the elderly couple and their two grandchildren were murdered by a family member. It is alleged that due to a property dispute, the accused Sonsai along with his son attacked the sleeping family members with an axe. The police have taken both the accused into custody and started investigation.
Four dead bodies found in a house under construction
There was a sensation in Bhanwatara village of Janjgir-Champa district when workers found dead bodies of four people inside a house under construction. After receiving the information, police reached the spot and started investigation.
The deceased have been identified as 70-year-old Medni Prasad Kashyap, his wife Kanti Bai, grandson Pitambar Kashyap and granddaughter Mogra. Initial investigation revealed that everyone was murdered with a sharp weapon.
Son accused of murder in property dispute
According to police officials, the deceased couple’s son Sonsai and his son Dakeshwar alias Golu have been detained. It is alleged that both of them together committed the crime by attacking with an axe.
Investigation also revealed that the accused Sonsai had earlier served about 15 years in jail for the murder of his brother. The second son of the family had committed suicide. Police suspect that the accused wanted sole rights over the family property.
The only children of the family also lost their lives.
According to the police, Pitambar was the only son of his father, while Mogra was the only daughter of his family. After the incident, there is an atmosphere of panic and mourning in the entire village.
On Thursday morning, workers saw dead bodies lying on cots, after which villagers informed the police. Police have registered the case and investigation into the entire conspiracy and incidents behind the murder is underway.
