Action started against negligent officers in Bihar, created panic

Patna. Bihar government has taken a big step towards making the administrative system accountable. Amidst the complaints of common people and continuously rising questions regarding pending cases, the government has now started taking action against negligent officers.

Following the instructions of Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary, monitoring of work in departments has been intensified and strict action has been warned against officers who do not complete the work within the stipulated time. Under this campaign, the first major action was seen in Muzaffarpur, where Kudhani Revenue Officer Dharmendra Kumar was suspended on charges of negligence in work.

Government’s clear message – carelessness will not be tolerated

Land Reforms and Revenue Minister Dilip Jaiswal has clearly said that now officials who delay in matters related to the public will not be spared at any cost. Taking seriously the complaints and allegations of corruption continuously received by the department, the government has adopted a strict attitude.

Pressure to settle pending cases quickly

In the last few months, many cases related to land and revenue could not be settled due to strikes and administrative reasons. Now the government has given clear instructions to the officers and employees that the pending files should be completed expeditiously on priority basis. The government says that the public should not have to visit government offices again and again and every work should be completed within the stipulated time. For this, continuous review is also being done at the departmental level.

The file will have to be settled in 30 days

Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary has already made it clear that it will be mandatory to settle any matter related to the public within 30 days. If the file remains pending even after the stipulated time limit, action will be taken against the concerned officer. The government has also launched Sahyog portal and helpline number 1100 for resolution of complaints, so that people can register their complaints directly and it can be monitored.

Strictness on court related matters also

The state government has also decided to expedite court related cases. In such cases, notices will be sent to the officers at different stages and if timely action is not taken, action like suspension can be taken against the responsible officers.

The objective of the government is clear to make the government system in Bihar more accountable and transparent. The common people are expected to get relief by fixing the accountability of the officers. It is believed that similar strictness may be seen in other departments in the coming days.
