Samrat Chaudhary’s big statement on the encounter, said – ‘Police should open fire only after asking caste’
Tezzbuzz Desk – Samrat Choudhary has given a big statement amid the continuous police encounters in Bihar and the questions being raised on it. Addressing a program on Thursday, he said that if people are talking about encounters on the basis of caste, then “the police should open fire only after asking the caste.” After his statement, a new debate has started in the politics of Bihar.
In fact, in the last few days, incidents of encounter between police and miscreants have come to light in many districts of Bihar. Police action has been taken at many places including Patna, Siwan, Kishanganj and Samastipur. The opposition is continuously raising questions on the government regarding these encounters. The opposition alleges that caste bias is being carried out in the action.
Responding to the same issue, Samrat Choudhary said, “Some people are asking these days that when police encounters, caste should also be considered. I would tell the policemen to ask… shoot only after asking about caste. That means, what kind of common sense are people using?”
He further said that Bihar should be known for good governance and maintaining law and order is the priority of the government. Samrat Chaudhary gave a strict message to the police, saying that if a criminal challenges the police, he should get a reply within 48 hours.
He said, “I have told Bihar Police that if someone challenges the police, then do not delay too much, take action within 48 hours. Police is there for good governance and strictness. Criminals should not escape under any circumstances.”
Although Samrat Chaudhary did not take the name of any opposition leader in his statement, it is believed that he was referring to Tejashwi Yadav. In fact, a few days ago, Tejashwi Yadav had raised questions on the incidents of the encounter in a press conference.
Tejashwi Yadav had said that the government is targeting people of a particular caste. He had also said when action would be taken against the people involved in the cases he mentioned. After his statement, the controversy regarding encounter and caste in Bihar politics has intensified.
