Under the direction of Superintendent of Police Sonbhadra Abhishek Verma, Cyber Cell/Cyber Police Station was directed to effectively curb crimes related to sexual exploitation of women and children and to continuously monitor and take strict action against those who upload obscene/pornographic material on social media and internet platforms.
In the same sequence, through the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) portal run by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India and the Cyber Tripline system (which works to provide information related to people uploading child pornography/obscene videos through social media and information related to child sexual exploitation to the law and order agencies of the state), information regarding uploading of child pornography/obscene videos on social media was received through NCRP portal, in which 02 complaints were received from Sonbhadra district. Found related to.
During the investigation, mobile details, IP details and profile details of the concerned user were obtained by the cyber cell, in which the names of 02 accused who uploaded obscene/pornographic videos on social media platforms came to light. A team was formed under the leadership of Inspector-in-charge Cyber Police Station Dhirendra Kumar Chaudhary for the arrest of the accused and device verification.
Kar police station Duddhi and police station Obra were directed to take action against the accused, in which on Thursday, with success, Saif, who uploaded obscene/pornographic material on the internet platform through social media Instagram, was arrested from Duddhi town and Rahul Kumar from Obra police station area.
The arrested accused, Saif son of Khajmuddin, resident of Ward No. 09, Ramnagar Duddhi, Police Station Duddhi, Sonbhadra, Rahul Kumar son of Ramkishun, resident of Gurudwara Gali, Chopan Road Obra, Police Station Obra, Sonbhadra, during interrogation, told that their friends have a social media group, in which videos were sent to each other through Instagram/Facebook etc. It was told by the accused that the said obscene videos were uploaded/shared on social media/website platforms with the aim of getting more views and earning financial benefits.
Details of the proceedings – After the above information was verified and the device and mobile number used in uploading were recovered and on the basis of arrest and recovery, FIR against them was registered against them under IPC – 148/2026 section 77, 294 BNS and 67A IT Act at police station Duddhi and under IPC – 112/2026 section 77, 294 BNS and 67B IT at police station Obra. Legal action was taken by registering a case under the Act.

Sonbhadra Police appeals to the general public not to upload, share or forward any kind of obscene, objectionable or child sexual abuse related material on social media. Doing so falls under the category of serious cyber crime and if found guilty, strict legal action will be taken.
