Gonda Power Crisis: BJP MLA Prateek Bhushan Singh wrote a letter to the Energy Minister on the power crisis in Gonda, demanding immediate solution.

Gonda. Amidst the scorching heat in UP, the electricity crisis in Gonda has increased considerably, due to which ruling Bharatiya Janata Party MLA Prateek Bhushan Singh has taken a tough stance. In an official letter to state Energy Minister AK Sharma, the MLA expressed deep anger and grave concern over power cuts occurring without any prior notice and severe low-voltage problems in both rural and urban areas. He said that the local people are facing unbearable weather conditions, and the damaged and burnt out transformers have further added to their problems.

Constant interruptions in power supply have made people’s daily lives difficult.

The crisis reached its peak last night when citizens, troubled by prolonged power outages, came out of their homes and took to the streets to protest. Understanding the public anger, the MLA expressed his strong displeasure, in which he emphasized that being an elected representative, he has to face direct accountability towards the public because when basic services come to a standstill, people naturally question him. The MLA further said that frequent interruptions in power supply have made everyday life difficult for people, making it almost impossible for them to stay inside their homes or reach their workplaces comfortably.

While acknowledging the technical constraints being faced by the power department such as grid overheating, breaking of power lines due to strong winds and extreme heat stress, the MLA stressed that merely acknowledging these challenges is not enough. He stressed that the public wants a concrete and permanent solution to this undeclared load and not just a temporary solution. In his appeal to Energy Minister AK Sharma, Prateek Bhushan Singh said that an emergency system should be implemented immediately to reduce power cuts at night. The MLA has also sought an immediate personal meeting with the Energy Minister to discuss the seriousness and sensitivity of the situation in detail. He also expressed hope that strict instructions will soon be issued to the concerned authorities to resolve this crisis in public interest.
