A continuous increase in the rates of petrol and diesel may increase the cost of transportation and logistics, which may ultimately lead to an increase in the prices of essential commodities and food products. Farmers will have to spend more to run tractors and pumping sets, which will increase the cost of grains. There may also be an increase in the fares of public transport and school buses.
