IPL 2026: Playoff picture clear, RR will face SRH in the eliminator; full schedule

The picture of the playoffs of the Indian Premier League 2026 (IPL 2026) is now completely clear. The picture of the playoffs became clear till the last match of the league stage. Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), Gujarat Titans (GT), Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) have qualified for the knockouts. Rajasthan Royals won their last league match and secured the last ticket for the playoffs. With this the journey of Punjab Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders ended.

 

Rajasthan Royals secured 16 points with 8 wins from 14 matches and made it to the playoffs by finishing fourth. Whereas Punjab Kings remained at fifth position with 15 points. With the victory of Rajasthan, all possibilities of playoff ended and the position of the four teams was decided.

RCB finished on top

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) performed brilliantly and finished first in the league stage with 18 points. The team remained on top in the points table due to better net run rate. Gujarat Titans also reached 18 points but remained at second position due to low net run rate. Sunrisers Hyderabad also scored 18 points but due to poor net run rate, the team remained at third position.

There will be eliminator between RR and SRH

Fourth-placed Rajasthan Royals will now face Sunrisers Hyderabad in the eliminator match. This match will be do or die for both the teams. The losing team will be directly out of the tournament, while the winning team will advance to Qualifier-2. On the other hand, RCB and Gujarat Titans will clash in Qualifier-1, where the losing team will also get another chance to reach the final.

Complete schedule of IPL 2026 playoffs

  • Qualifier 1 (RCB vs GT): Will be played on Tuesday, May 26 at Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium, Dharamshala. The team that wins this match will directly reach the finals, while the losing team will go to Qualifier-2.
  • Eliminator (SRH vs RR): Will be played on Wednesday, May 27 at Maharaja Yadvendra Singh Stadium, Mullanpur. The journey of the losing team in this match will end and the winning team will reach Qualifier-2.
  • Qualifier 2: Will be played on Friday, May 29 in Mullanpur. In this, the team that loses Qualifier-1 will face the team that wins the Eliminator.
  • Final match: Will be played on Sunday, May 31 at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.
