US Secretary of State Marco Rubio will visit Jaipur today. Security arrangements have been tightened regarding his visit to Amer Palace and City Palace. Traffic will be affected on many routes from the airport to Amer and Amer Palace will remain closed for a few hours.
Jaipur: US Secretary of State Marco Rubio will visit Rajasthan’s capital Jaipur on Monday. His visit is being considered important from the point of view of India-America relations and cultural diplomacy. During their stay in Jaipur they will visit Amer Palace, City Palace and possibly the Elephant Village. The administration and security agencies have made extensive preparations for the visit.
Due to the program of the Foreign Minister, the traffic system on many major routes of the city will be affected. Also, the famous Amer Palace of Jaipur will remain closed for common tourists for a few hours.
Amer city will remain closed from 1 pm to 5 pmL
According to the information released by the administration, Amer Fort will be closed for tourists from 1 pm to 5 pm on Monday.
Special cultural programs will be organized at Jaleb Chowk of Amer Palace to welcome Marco Rubio. Here a glimpse of the traditional folk culture of Rajasthan will be presented. Famous folk dances like Ghoomar, Kalbelia and Kachchi Ghodi will be presented to welcome the foreign guests.
Apart from this, puppeteers will also showcase the traditional art of Rajasthan. Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari will receive Marco Rubio at Amer Palace.
Rubio will reach Jaipur at 2 pm
According to officials, Marco Rubio will reach Jaipur airport at around 2 pm on Monday. His program for one day has been decided.
They will leave for Delhi at around 6:30 am on Tuesday. During the tour he will visit the historical sites and cultural heritage of Jaipur.
According to diplomatic sources, this visit is considered important towards strengthening the cultural and strategic cooperation between India and America.
Traffic affected on many routes from airport to Amer
Due to the movement of the Foreign Minister’s convoy, traffic restrictions will be imposed on many major routes of Jaipur city.
The administration said that from 12 noon to 6 pm, traffic will be partially affected on the route from the airport to Amer Mahal.
Traffic diversions and restrictions may be implemented in these key areas:
- JLN Marg
- New Gate
- Chaura Rasta
- Tripolia Bazaar
- Hawa Mahal
- Subhash Chowk
The administration has appealed to the people to check the traffic updates before traveling on these routes and use alternative routes.
US Secretary of State will stay in Rambagh Palace
During his stay in Jaipur, Marco Rubio will stay at the city’s prestigious heritage hotel Rambagh Palace.
Special security arrangements have been made in the hotel. Security agencies and local administration have kept the entire area on high alert. Security checks have been increased in the hotel premises and surrounding areas.
According to sources, constant coordination is being done between American security agencies and the Indian administration in view of the visit.
There is also a possibility of going to elephant village
According to sources, Marco Rubio may also visit the famous elephant village of Jaipur. Although this program has not been officially confirmed, preparations have been started there.
Traditional arrangements are being made in Hathi village to welcome foreign guests. There the elephants will be decorated in the pond area and a special activity of feeding them fruits can also be organised.
