New Delhi. The prices of diesel and petrol have increased once again in the country. Opposition party leaders are cornering the Modi government over the increase in diesel and petrol prices for the fourth time in 10 days. Every increase in fuel prices is another blow to the domestic budget, and has a cascading effect on every aspect of the economy, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge wrote on social media. Kharge wrote on social media X, the daily routine of petrol robbery has not ended yet. The increase has been made for the fourth time in 10 days. In this, petrol has become costlier by ₹ 7.35/litre and diesel by ₹ 7.53/litre in 10 days. Modi government has sprinkled petrol to burn the savings of common people. He further wrote, between 2004 and 2014, during the UPA government, international crude oil prices had increased by 175.34%. During the tenure of Modi government, international crude oil prices have not increased even a single penny.

Despite this, the Modi government has increased the price of petrol from ₹71.41 per liter in 2014 to ₹102.12 per liter in 2026, which is an increase of 43.01%. Similarly, the price of diesel has also been increased from ₹ 56.71 per liter to ₹ 95.20 per liter, which is an increase of 67.87%. Modi government has looted ₹43 lakh crore in the last 12 years, i.e. loot of ₹1000 every day.

With petrol and diesel prices rising for the fourth time, shares of HPCL, BPCL and IOC rose 5.8%, 4.44% and 3.90% respectively today. Profit above people is in the DNA of BJP. Every increase in fuel prices is another blow to the household budget, and has cascading effects on every aspect of the economy.
