Bakra Mandi Rates 2026: Bakrid, also known as Eid-ul-Azha or ‘Festival of Sacrifice’, is one of the most important Islamic festivals celebrated by Muslims around the world. This festival commemorates Prophet Ibrahim’s sacrifice of his son as a form of devotion to Allah. According to Islamic belief, Allah replaced the sacrifice with a ram (male sheep), which is a symbol of faith, sacrifice and compassion. On this day, Muslims offer special prayers, perform Qurbani (animal sacrifice), and distribute the meat among family, friends, and the needy. In India, Bakrid is celebrated with great enthusiasm in cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Lucknow, where huge crowds are seen in big Bakra Mandis before Eid. The date of the festival depends on the sighting of the moon in the Islamic calendar. In most parts of India, Bakrid 2026 will be celebrated on May 28.
