Debashish Samantrai, who is going to start a new political innings from BJP, while sharing the information through X Post, wrote that my resignation letter to the President of Biju Janata Dal. From the inception of the party till today, I have been working according to my policy of service, organization and dedication. In future also, I will continue my struggle for the people of Odisha. In the resignation letter, he wrote, I resign from the primary membership of BJD today, i.e. on May 25, 2026. I will always be indebted to you for nominating me to Rajya Sabha. I take this opportunity to express my heartfelt and deep gratitude to you for serving the people of undivided Cuttack district and for providing you the opportunity to raise the issues related to Odisha as a whole at the national level.

He wrote, I have always dedicated myself to the interests of the party and have worked for the party with complete devotion and commitment for the last many years. However, I feel that in recent times, I am being systematically undermined and humiliated within the party and my services are no longer required by the party. Therefore, I have taken this difficult decision in the public interest and request you to please accept my resignation.
