This huge tension in West Asia started on 28 February 2026. Then America and Israel launched a major air attack on Iran. Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was killed in this attack. After this a war broke out in the entire area. Iran retaliated by completely closing the Strait of Hormuz on the same day, i.e. 28 February 2026. Since then this road has been closed for about three months.

Due to the closure of this route, the supply of crude oil and gas has stopped across the world. The fares and insurance of sea ships have increased a lot. Although there have been attempts for a ceasefire, the tension has still not subsided. For this reason, Quad countries have had to come forward to save merchant ships.
