Haryana News: A major step has been taken to make public transport modern and environment-friendly in Haryana. Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini will inaugurate the new electric bus service from Panipat on June 28. On this occasion, a total of 80 electric buses will be flagged off for different districts of the state, out of which 40 buses will operate only from Panipat depot.
Air-conditioning facility will be available
Before the arrival of the Chief Minister, DSP Suresh Saini and Roadways Depot officials inspected the bus depot. With the operation of new bus services, passengers will get the facility of air-conditioning in summer and people of rural areas and thousands of students will also benefit from it.
Buses start operating in these cities
According to Engineer Prateek of JBM Company, 80 electric buses will start operating in various cities of Haryana like Panipat, Sonipat, Yamunanagar, Ambala, Karnal and Rohtak from June 28. The range of these buses will depend on weather and AC usage, but once fully charged they can run about 150 kilometers. It also has a re-generation feature, which will help in recharging the battery on sloping roads.
Buses will also run on additional routes
Jaiveer Singh, Traffic Manager, Panipat Roadways Depot, said that there are a total of 45 electric buses in the depot, out of which 5 are already in operation. The new buses will be inaugurated by the Chief Minister. These buses will run on various routes including Singhu Border, Sonipat, Gohana, Safidon, Karnal, Shamli, Bapauli and Babail. According to the number of passengers and demand, buses will also be run on additional routes. The fare has been kept at par with normal AC buses, and the frequency will be decided as per the need of the passengers.
