There is chaos among land owners in Bihar! Government gave 4 big good news

Patna. The Bihar government has made major changes in land related matters and has given many reliefs to the people of the state. In the cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary, land survey, land purchase policy and many other important proposals were approved. The government claims that these decisions will make the land system more transparent and modern.

1. New land survey will be done in both urban and rural areas.

Now in Bihar, special land survey will be conducted not only in villages but also in cities. Under this, a new Khatian and digital map of the land will be prepared. Till now this work was being done mainly in rural areas, but now it is being extended to municipal areas, so that uniform land records can be prepared in the entire state.

2. Land records will be more transparent and modern

The government has made many changes in the land survey rules. Old rules have been amended and new provisions have been added, while some irrelevant rules have been removed. Along with this, clear definitions of technical terms related to land are also being decided, so that there is no confusion. This will help in making land records more accurate and digital.

3. Relief to land owners from new land purchase policy

The state government has approved the Bihar Ryoti Land Purchase Policy 2026 for public interest projects. Under this policy, if government land is not available, the land will be purchased by directly talking to the farmers and ryots. The value of land in urban areas will be decided on the basis of double the market rate or circle rate, whichever is higher. Whereas in rural areas this compensation will be given up to four times.

4. Stamp duty will not be imposed on land purchase

Giving another big relief, the government has decided that under this new policy, no stamp duty or registration fee will be charged on the purchase of land. This will not only provide better compensation to the farmers, but the process of land acquisition for roads, bridges, hospitals and other development works will also be completed faster.
