Major recovery during naka checking in Cachar

60,000 Yaba tablets valued at ₹18 crore

According to the police, the value of the seized 60,000 Yaba tablets could be around ₹18 crore in the international illegal market. Yaba tablets are considered a very dangerous synthetic drug, smuggling of which is considered a serious crime in many countries.

This huge seizure has caused economic loss as well as a strategic blow to the smuggling network, as the capture of such a large consignment disrupts their supply chain.

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s reaction

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma described this success as part of the anti-drug policy of the state government. He said that the government’s aim is to make Assam drug free and strict action is being taken continuously for this.

He also said that drug mafias try to smuggle drugs in new ways, but Assam Police is also responding with equal speed and alertness. He described the role of police as very important in this campaign.

Police keep an eye on organized drug network

Police officials believe that this is not just a small action, but a big organized network is working behind it. The investigating agencies are now busy tracing this entire supply chain.

It is being ascertained from where the supply of drugs started, who are the people involved and to which states or countries it was to be sent. Police suspect that this network may be spread interstate or internationally.

Yaba tablets and their danger

Yaba tablets are a type of synthetic drug, which contains harmful chemicals like methamphetamine and caffeine. These are manufactured illegally and cause severe addiction.

Their consumption has a serious impact on the mental and physical health of a person. These drugs are not only addictive but can also cause behavioral aggression, mental imbalance and heart problems.

For this reason, there is a strict ban on their smuggling and use in many countries of the world.

Campaign against drugs intensified in Assam

In the last few years, the Assam government has intensified its campaign against drugs. Continuous checkpoint checking, raids and action is being taken against smuggling networks in the state.

The government aims to create “Drug-Free Assam”, for which the police and administration are working together. Many big drug rackets have also been exposed under this campaign.

Increased surveillance in border areas

Border districts like Cachar are more prone to drug smuggling as these areas are close to international routes. For this reason, the police have tightened surveillance in these areas.

The Special Task Force and the local police are continuously running joint operations to stop every attempt of smuggling.

Further investigation and possible arrest

The police have started further investigation in this case and are working on many important clues. Officials say that more arrests may be made in this case soon.

Efforts are being made to expose the entire network on the basis of seized vehicles, mobile data and other evidence.
