Partial amendment in SIR program of Punjab State by Election Commission of India – CEO Anindita Mitra

Punjab SIR: The Election Commission of India has made a partial amendment to the previously announced program regarding Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter lists in the state of Punjab. A new letter has been issued by the Election Commission today in this regard.

Giving information about this, Punjab Chief Electoral Officer Anindita Mitra said that now the draft voter lists of Punjab state will be published on 03 August 2026. He further informed that the period for submitting claims and objections related to voter lists has been fixed from 03 August 2026 to 02 September 2026.

Additionally, the process of notice stage and disposal of claims/objections will run from 03 August 2026 to 28 September 2026. The Chief Electoral Officer clarified that the remaining timetable will remain applicable as per the earlier notification issued on 14 May 2026.
