Abhishek Banerjee’s siege in Sonarpur: Uproar amidst slogans of ‘chor-chor’, said – will not bow down to attacks and threats

Kolkata. Trinamool Congress (TMC) national general secretary and MP Abhishek Banerjee faced protests during his visit to Sonarpur in South 24 Parganas on Saturday. During this time, news of some people allegedly pushing and misbehaving with him has come to light.

According to the information, Abhishek Banerjee had reached the area to meet the families affected by the violence after the elections. Meanwhile, some people present there started opposing him, due to which a tense situation was created on the spot.

Targeted at BJP-
While talking to the media after the incident, Abhishek Banerjee alleged that this entire incident is sponsored by BJP. He said he was abused and attempts were made to target him during the protest.

Abhishek Banerjee said, “Look, what they have done. This is an example of their democracy. Not even a month has passed yet and the police are nowhere to be seen.”

Will complain to High Court and Governor-
The TMC MP claimed that the entire incident was recorded on camera and there was enough evidence for it. He said that he will approach the court regarding this matter.

He said, “They wanted to kill me. The entire incident has been captured on camera. We will inform the High Court about this matter and will also inform the Governor. I will definitely go to court regarding this matter.”

Political atmosphere heated up-
After the incident, a phase of allegations and counter-allegations has started once again in the politics of West Bengal. While TMC is calling it a conspiracy by the opposition, discussions have intensified in political circles regarding this matter. At present, no official statement has come from the administration regarding the incident.
