The spy thriller film Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge, directed by Aditya Dhar, has reached its 72nd day after its release on March 19, 2026 and is now in the final stages at the box office.

Entertainment News: Competition remains intense between several big films at the Indian box office in the summer of 2026. While Drishyam 3 has crossed the Rs 200 crore mark globally in just nine days of its release, Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge is cementing its place among the most successful films of Indian cinema by registering collections even on its 72nd day. Apart from this, newly released films have also tried to attract the attention of the audience at the box office.

Historic performance of ‘Dhurandhar 2’ continues

Director Aditya Dhar’s spy-thriller ‘Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge’ has performed record-breakingly since its release in March 2026. The film recorded a net collection of around Rs 10 lakh in India on its 72nd day. The film’s total Indian net collection has now reached over Rs 1,148 crore, while the domestic gross has stood at around Rs 1,374 crore.

The film has also performed brilliantly in the international markets and its overseas earnings have been recorded at more than Rs 426 crore. With this, the global box office collection of the film has crossed Rs 1,812 crore. Although the film is now in the final stages of its theatrical run, its long success is considered a significant achievement for the Indian film industry.

Strong hold of ‘Drishyam 3’ continues

The latest installment of the suspense-thriller franchise ‘Drishyam 3’ continues to be popular among the audience. The film has grossed over Rs 200 crore globally within nine days of its release. On the ninth day, the film collected Rs 4.30 crore at the Indian box office. With this, the domestic net collection has crossed Rs 86 crore, while the gross earnings in India have crossed the Rs 100 crore mark.

The film has received a tremendous response in the international markets as well. Its total earnings from overseas territories have reached Rs 109 crore, taking its total worldwide box office collection to around Rs 210 crore. Analysts believe that the strong story, positive reviews and word-of-mouth promotion played a significant role in the film’s success.

Challenge for ‘Chand Mera Dil’ in the second week

Romantic drama ‘Chand Mera Dil’, starring Ananya Panday and Lakshya in the lead roles, seems to be struggling at the box office in its second week. The film collected around Rs 1.30 crore on its second Friday. Till now its total Indian net collection has reached around Rs 20.75 crore, while the global earning has been recorded at around Rs 27.55 crore. Due to tough competition and pressure of newly released films, the pace of the film’s earnings has slowed down relatively.

Status of ‘Pati Patni Aur Woh Do’ and ‘Bhoot Bungalow’

Comedy-drama ‘Pati Patni Aur Woh Do’ has completed 15 days of release. The film made a business of Rs 1.25 crore on Friday, taking its Indian net collection to over Rs 43 crore. However, the film has not yet been successful in attracting the audience on a large scale. On the other hand, the box office performance of Bhooth Bangla has now slowed down. The film collected approximately Rs 55 lakh on the 43rd day of its release. Despite this, the total Indian collection of the film has reached more than Rs 177 crore and the global earning has reached close to Rs 263 crore.
