Public attack on Mamata Banerjee’s nephew Abhishek Banerjee! Torn shirt, thrown eggs, life saved by wearing helmet

Kolkata: A very sensational and shocking news is coming out from the politics of West Bengal. Abhishek Banerjee, national general secretary of Trinamool Congress (TMC) and nephew of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, has been fatally attacked in Sonarpur. After this attack, there has been an earthquake in the entire politics of West Bengal.

Abhishek Banerjee had come to Sonarpur area to meet the victims of post-poll violence and inquire about their well-being. Meanwhile, the local people and alleged BJP workers present there surrounded him from all sides and started creating ruckus.

Torn shirts and thrown eggs, security personnel saved their lives by wearing helmets

A very shocking video of this entire uproar has also surfaced, in which huge chaos and uproar can be clearly seen. The crowd was so furious that during the attack even Abhishek Banerjee’s shirt got torn and eggs were also thrown at him. Seeing the situation worsening, his security personnel immediately took charge. To save Abhishek Banerjee from serious injury, the security personnel hurriedly fitted him with a helmet and took him safely to the car. BJP workers also started raising slogans of ‘thief-thief’ as soon as they saw Abhishek Banerjee. After this incident, huge political tension has spread in the entire area.

Expressing his anger over this horrific attack, Abhishek Banerjee said that all this is sponsored by BJP and it has been done completely at the behest of BJP. Showing his torn shirt he said that this is his example of democracy. Not even a month has passed since the government was formed, and the police seems to be completely absent from the spot.

Not afraid of attacks, Abhishek Banerjee gave open challenge

Narrating his ordeal, Abhishek Banerjee alleged that the full intention of the attackers was to cause serious harm to him. Even his shirt was torn during the scuffle. He was most surprised by the fact that not a single policeman was present at such a sensitive place. He said that he was saved from a major accident and serious injury because he was wearing a helmet. Along with this, the TMC leader challenged the opponents and clearly said that they are neither going to be afraid of such cowardly attacks nor are they going to step back from the people’s fight.

Abhishek also trapped in fake signature case, CID served summons

On one hand, Abhishek Banerjee has to face huge opposition and attacks from the public and the opposition on the ground, while on the other hand, the legal noose has tightened badly against him. CID of West Bengal Police has issued summons to Abhishek Banerjee in a case. CID has given strict orders to him to appear for investigation at Bhawani Bhawan (Police Headquarters) at 12 noon on Monday.

This entire controversy is related to the nomination of Shobhandeb Chattopadhyay as Leader of Opposition (LoP) in the Assembly. It is alleged that in the letter that was sent to the Assembly Secretariat, forged signatures of some TMC MLAs were used. A case was registered in connection with this forgery at Hare Street police station in Kolkata, the investigation of which has now been handed over to CID. This dual crisis of political violence on one hand and legal investigation on the other has completely heated up the politics of the state.
