West Bengal: Big action by police in the case of attack on Abhishek Banerjee, 5 accused arrested

Tezzbuzz Desk- Taking major action, West Bengal Police has arrested five people in the case of alleged attack on Trinamool Congress (TMC) national general secretary and MP Abhishek Banerjee in Sonarpur. According to police officials, the arrested accused also include Tapan Maiti and Akash, who have been identified on the basis of video footage related to the incident.

Police say that the investigation of the case is progressing rapidly and all the arrested accused are being interrogated. The role of other people involved in the incident is also being investigated.

The incident took place in Sonarpur area of South 24 Parganas district, where Abhishek Banerjee had come to meet families affected by the alleged post-poll violence. Meanwhile, a large number of people gathered around his convoy and the situation became tense. After the incident, the political atmosphere in the area became heated and a round of allegations and counter-allegations started between different parties.

TMC chief Mamata Banerjee blamed the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for the incident. He alleged that an attempt was made to hinder Abhishek Banerjee from getting proper medical care.

Mamata Banerjee said that an attempt was made to put pressure on the hospitals and concerned authorities so that Abhishek was not admitted. He described this entire incident as serious and demanded an impartial investigation.

However, BJP has rejected these allegations outright and denied any involvement in the incident. After the incident, medical examination of Abhishek Banerjee was done. According to the medical report released by the hospital, investigation has not confirmed any serious injury. The report mentioned only a minor injury to the chest.

Doctors said that his condition was normal during examination. He was fully conscious, talking and showed no signs of any serious medical complications.

After medical examination, the doctors did not consider the need to admit him to the hospital. As a precautionary measure, he was given necessary medicines and fluids and kept under observation for some time. According to doctors, he was discharged after his health condition was found stable.

This incident has created a new controversy in the politics of West Bengal. On one hand, TMC is presenting it as a political attack, while BJP is calling the allegations baseless.

Police say that the case is being investigated impartially and further action will be taken on the basis of available video footage, statements of eyewitnesses and other evidence. More facts related to the investigation are likely to emerge in the coming days.
