Pauri Garhwal: Chardham pilgrims stopped in Srinagar due to bad weather
Pauri Garhwal. Due to bad weather on the Chardham Yatra route, the district administration has temporarily controlled the yatra in Srinagar area keeping in mind the safety of the pilgrims. In view of the continuous heavy rains and storms in the upper areas, the passengers have been kept at safe places.
District Magistrate Swati S Bhadauria is continuously monitoring the weather conditions, holding areas and travel arrangements. He has instructed the concerned officers including Sub-Collector Srinagar to ensure all necessary arrangements for the safety and convenience of the passengers. In case the journey is temporarily stopped due to bad weather, passengers have been stopped at safe places in Srinagar area.
Sub-District Magistrate Srinagar Nupur Verma said that as per the instructions of the District Magistrate, about 400 vehicles have been safely parked at NIT Ground and Housing Development Ground. He said that as the weather conditions improve, the vehicles are being sent ahead in a phased manner following the safety standards, so that the traffic system remains smooth and the safety of the passengers can be ensured. Also, special arrangements are being made for the passengers who want to stay overnight or for additional time. To ensure that the passengers do not face any inconvenience, drinking water, food and other necessary facilities are being provided.
All the arrangements are being continuously monitored by the district administration and the concerned officers are deployed at the spot and are keeping an eye on the situation. Chardham Yatra Control Room has been set up by the district administration for assistance and coordination of the pilgrims. The administration has ensured all arrangements for the safety, convenience and necessary assistance of the passengers.
The district administration has appealed to all the passengers to completely follow the guidelines issued by the administration, not pay attention to any kind of rumors and stay at the designated holding places or safe places till the weather becomes normal. Every possible arrangement is being ensured by the administration for the safety and convenience of the passengers.
