Twisha Sharma Case Deepens: Ex-Judge and son sent to judicial custody till June 16

Bhopal: A special CBI court in Bhopal on Tuesday remanded retired judge Giribala Singh and her son Samarth Singh to judicial custody till June 16 in connection with the Twisha Sharma death case. The decision came after the completion of their five-day Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) custody.

Both accused were produced before the court following the expiry of their remand period. The CBI informed the court that it was not seeking further custodial interrogation and instead requested that they be sent to judicial custody.

Court Accepts CBI Request

After hearing the matter, the special court accepted the agency’s submission and ordered that both accused be kept in judicial custody. The court’s order effectively shifts the case from investigative custody to judicial supervision as the probe continues.

Lodging in Bhopal Central Jail

Officials confirmed that Giribala Singh and Samarth Singh will be lodged at Bhopal Central Jail. Authorities have also arranged for them to be kept separate from other inmates during their time in custody, following standard protocol for high-profile cases.

Background of the Case

The Twisha Sharma death case has been under investigation by the Central Bureau of Investigation, with the agency recently completing an initial phase of custodial interrogation. The latest court order marks a procedural step forward as the investigation moves ahead.

Next Steps in Investigation

With judicial custody now in place until June 16, further proceedings in the case are expected to continue under court supervision. Investigators may submit additional findings before the next hearing.
