Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to create a new history in Indian democracy on June 10, when he will create the record of being the longest continuously elected Prime Minister of independent India. Till now this record is in the name of the country’s first Prime Minister Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru.

PM Modi was sworn in as Prime Minister for the first time on May 26, 2014. Since then he has been working continuously as the elected Prime Minister of the country. On coming June 10, 4399 days of his tenure as Prime Minister will be completed. This is more than Pandit Nehru’s tenure of 4398 days as elected Prime Minister.

Pandit Nehru was the Prime Minister from 13 May 1952 to 27 May 1964. Although Pandit Nehru became the Prime Minister of India after independence on August 15, 1947, but at that time he was not elected but was the Prime Minister in the interim government.
Earlier, Narendra Modi had gone ahead of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi’s tenure of 4077 days. Mrs. Gandhi was the Prime Minister continuously from January 24, 1966 to March 24, 1977. Although she was also elected Prime Minister later in 1980.
By the way, Narendra Modi has worked as Chief Minister and Prime Minister for more than 9000 days. He was sworn in as Prime Minister for the third consecutive time on June 9, 2024.
According to sources, there will be an important meeting of the Chief Ministers of the state governments of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) on June 10, in which PM Modi will be congratulated for this achievement. A resolution is also likely to be passed on this occasion.
