Assam Government Cabinet Expansion On 5th June: Himanta Biswa cabinet will be expanded in Assam, 12 MLAs will become ministers, swearing in on 5th June

New Delhi. The cabinet expansion of the NDA government of Assam will take place on Saturday, June 5 at 12:45 pm. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma himself has given information regarding the cabinet expansion through social media. Under the cabinet expansion, oath of office of ministers will be administered to 12 MLAs. After the assembly elections, the swearing in ceremony of the new government took place on 12 May. Along with Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, 4 MLAs took oath as ministers. Now after the cabinet expansion, the number of ministers will increase to 16. The Assam cabinet can have a maximum of 19 ministers including the Chief Minister. In such a situation, the seats of 3 ministers will remain vacant, which will be filled in the coming time.

Let us tell you that NDA has won power in Assam for the third consecutive time and this is the second consecutive term of Himanta Biswa Sarma as CM. At present, Assam Gana Parishad (AGP) president Atul Bora, Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) MLA Charan Boro, BJP’s Ajanta Neog and Rameshwar Teli are ministers in the cabinet. Ajanta Neog has been the first woman Finance Minister of Assam and was also a minister in the previous government of Himanta. Whereas Rameshwar Teli became MLA by winning the assembly elections. Before this he was an MP and former Union Minister of State.

In the recently held elections, NDA has achieved majority by winning 102 out of 126 assembly seats. BJP has won 82 seats while its allies Assam Gana Parishad (AGP) and Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) have won 10 seats each. Former Assam government minister Bismita Gogoi has congratulated all the MLAs who have been included in the cabinet. He expressed confidence that under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, all the people included in the Cabinet will make significant contribution to good governance and inclusive development.
