On World Environment Day, CM Yogi planted a mango tree, gave a green message with the name ‘One tree in the name of mother’.

Lucknow, 5 June. On the occasion of World Environment Day, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath appealed to the citizens to conserve nature by planting a mango sapling under the ‘One Tree in the Name of Mother’ campaign at his official residence. The Chief Minister said that if the environment remains safe then nature will be saved, and if nature is saved then the living world will also be saved. Therefore, it is the duty of every person to fulfill his responsibilities towards the motherland responsibly.

Referring to “Janani Janmabhoomisch Swargadapi Gariyasi”, he described environmental protection as the highest national responsibility. In fact, after the formation of the government in 2017, a target of planting 5 crore trees was set. In the last 9 years, more than 242 crore saplings have been planted in the state, due to which the forest cover has increased. Under the ‘One Tree in the Name of Mother’ campaign launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a plantation campaign has started in the entire state today.

He said that to deal with environmental challenges, the government has promoted earthen utensils by banning single-use plastic. Yogi said that with the establishment of Mati Kala Board, free clay, manual and solar-electric chalk were provided to the potter community from April to June. To conserve water, rain water harvesting has been made mandatory in large residential and commercial complexes.

In the program, Yogi appealed to the people of the state to join the campaign and plant saplings and take care of them. On this occasion, Minister Dr. Arun Kumar Saxena, KP Malik, Baldev Singh Aulakh, Danish Azad Ansari and senior officials of the Forest Department were present.
