Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi today decided to increase the milling charges of rice. The Chief Minister has taken this decision keeping in mind the smooth collection of paddy from the farmers.

As per the Chief Minister’s decision, the milling price of Ushuna rice (Parboiled Rice) has been increased to Rs 40 per quintal from the current Rs 20 per quintal. Similarly, the milling price of Arua rice (Raw Rice) has been increased to Rs 20 from the current Rs 10 per quintal.

The Chief Minister expressed the hope that this will solve the problems of the millers, ensure smooth collection of paddy from the farmers and strengthen the food security system of the state.

It is worth noting that in the last few years, the prices of labour wages, petrol and other milling inputs have increased, while the milling prices in other states are much higher than our state.
