West Bengal: Mohammad Ajmal Siddiqui resigns from TMC, says it is difficult to work with Abhishek Banerjee
New Delhi. In a letter to TMC chief Mamata Banerjee, Mohammad Ajmal Siddiqui wrote that with full respect, I immediately resign from the State Secretary (Minority Cell) and all other responsibilities assigned to me in AITC, as well as from the primary membership of the party. He further wrote, this decision has not been taken lightly. I have given my time, energy and commitment to the party and have always worked in the interest of the organization and its workers. It is an honor for me to work under your leadership and contribute to the party’s development and outreach to the people. But after much deliberation, I have come to the conclusion that I am no longer in a position to continue my association with the party. However, there are personal reasons involved in my decision. But I also have to express my deep dissatisfaction with the current atmosphere and functioning of the party.

Siddiqui wrote, Over the past few years, many hard-working and dedicated workers have felt that they are being ignored, sidelined and not getting the respect they deserve. The democratic spirit that once encouraged dialogue and joint decision-making has now become quite weak. The genuine concerns of grassroots workers often remain unheard, leading to growing frustration among staunch party members.
