The IMD has issued warnings for heavy rain, thunderstorms, squalls, and lightning across several states between June 7 and June 12. Heavy rainfall is forecast for parts of the country on June 7. Alerts have been issued for heavy rain in parts of Kerala, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu. Heavy rainfall is expected to commence today in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura. Alerts have also been issued for Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, and Meghalaya.

What is the situation in North, Central, and West India?
According to the Meteorological Department, rain is expected in Konkan, Goa, and Maharashtra on June 7. Additionally, showers accompanied by thunderstorms are anticipated in Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, and Madhya Pradesh. Alerts regarding light rain and drizzle have been issued for Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, and the Delhi-NCR region.

Rainfall in Northeast India
A spell of continuous rain will persist in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, and Meghalaya, with intermittent heavy rainfall expected over several days. Continuous rain is also forecast for Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura from June 7 to June 12, with the possibility of heavy downpours in some areas. There is also a risk of storms and squalls in these regions.

Weather in South India
According to the Meteorological Department, a spell of rain is set to continue for several days across Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Lakshadweep, with heavy rainfall likely in some areas. Strong winds accompanied by thunderstorms are expected in various parts of these states. Alerts regarding rain and stormy weather have also been issued for Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

Weather in Eastern India
According to the Meteorological Department, the impact of rain and thunderstorms persists across West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, and Odisha. Light to moderate rainfall is likely in several districts. Additionally, weather conditions may change abruptly in some areas, accompanied by strong winds. Persistent rain and heavy downpours are expected to continue in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim.

Weather in North India
Rain and strong winds are forecast for various locations across Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Delhi, and Uttarakhand. There is also a possibility of landslides in the hilly states due to the rainfall.
