7 smugglers arrested with 13.413 kg of drugs
Srinagar/Jammu: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Sunday conducted a campaign against drug trafficking in Udhampur., samba, 7 alleged drug smugglers arrested in Anantnag and Baramulla districts. Police gave this information.
Aman Sharma and Hilal Ahmed were stopped on the basis of suspicious activities in Domail and Rahambal areas of Udhampur district, a police spokesperson said. respectively from their possession during the search 6.46 gram and 2.34 Gram heroin was recovered. Both the accused have been arrested and a case has been registered against them under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
According to the spokesperson, At a check post in Vijaypur area of Samba district, the police stopped a private car and during its search, it was seized from the possession of the driver Bilal Ahmed Shaikh. 4.50 Gram heroin recovered. Sheikh is a resident of Bandipora district of North Kashmir. meanwhile, Police arrested four more alleged drug smugglers during separate operations in Anantnag and Baramulla districts.
The spokesperson said a team from Bijbehara police station in Anantnag district arrested Zahid Ali Dar during a routine investigation. from his possession during the search 113 Gram charas was recovered.
He said that during patrolling on Model Town Brath Link Road in Sopore area of Baramulla district, police arrested 3 alleged smugglers Arsalan Nabi Zargar., Wasim Nabi Wani and Zahoor Ahmed Shaikh were arrested. The spokesperson said that drugs were recovered from their possession.
He said that cases have been registered against all the accused under the NDPS Act in the respective police stations and investigation is being done.
