New Delhi: US President Donald Trump has said that he has a lot of information about the whereabouts of Iran’s supreme leader Mojtaba Khamenei. Trump said this during an interview on NBC News show ‘Meet the Press’. However, he clearly refused to reveal the location.
When Trump was asked whether he knew where Khamenei was and what his condition was, he said that it was very likely that he knew. But on the question of whether he was inside Iran or not, he avoided answering the question and said that he did not want to say anything about it.
Speculation intensifies regarding Khamenei’s health!
Mojtaba Khamenei has not appeared in public since the attack in February. His father Ali Khamenei and several military officers were killed in that attack. Since then, only written messages have been issued in Khamenei’s name, which were read on state media.
Trump said that Khamenei is badly injured. Despite this, he is issuing statements and talking about the situation in Iran. According to Trump, there is a kind of bravery in this. He described Khamenei as more practical and rational than his father.
Trump said that even after such a serious injury, it is not normal if a leader keeps talking about relations with America. There would have been other concerns in his mind at that time.
Questions on leadership and nuclear program
Since the attack on February 28, questions are being raised on Iran’s leadership structure and the role of Mojtaba Khamenei. Last week Trump had said that he wanted to meet the Ayatollah. He also claimed that Iran has agreed to stop its nuclear program. But Tehran immediately rejected Trump’s claim. Iran says its nuclear program is completely peaceful and it does not plan to build weapons.
At present, no official information has been revealed regarding Khamenei’s whereabouts and his health. After Trump’s statement, speculations have intensified as to what is going on inside Iran’s ruling system. Analysts believe that if Khamenei stays away from the public stage for a long time, it could affect both Iran’s politics and nuclear talks.
