Division of departments in Assam Cabinet, CM Himanta Biswa Sarma kept many important ministries with himself.

Himanta Biswa Sarma Cabinet Distribution: Taking an important administrative step in Assam politics, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has distributed portfolios among the members of the state Council of Ministers. After getting the approval of the Governor, the Chief Minister has announced the division of the departments assigned to the ministers. The Chief Minister himself has held many important and political portfolios, which include important ministries like Home and Political Department, Public Works Department (Buildings and National Highways), Public Works Department (Roads), Energy Department, Information and Public Relations, Printing and Stationery Department.

Apart from this, the responsibility of the departments which have not been allocated to any other minister will also remain with the Chief Minister. While sharing this information on the social media platform X, the Chief Minister himself said that he is happy to announce the distribution of departments among the members of the Council of Ministers.

Ashwini Rai got minority department

Dr. Ashwini Rai Sarkar has been given the responsibility of Social Justice and Empowerment, Soil Conservation, and Minority Welfare and Development Department. Whereas Ashok Singhal has got the Department of Health and Family Welfare and Medical Education and Research.

Bimal Bora has been entrusted with the responsibility of cultural work, industry and commerce, public enterprises and ‘Act East Policy’ matters. Biswajit Daimary has been given the departments of Handloom, Textiles, Sports and Youth Welfare, Skill Development and Tribal Faith and Culture.

Big responsibility for new faces

Jayant Mallabarua, considered a very close aide of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, has been given the responsibility of Finance, Environment and Forest and Mining departments. Kaushik Rai has got the Department of Food and Public Distribution, Urban Development and Cooperation. Keshav Mahanta has been assigned the departments of Revenue and Disaster Management, Science and Technology and General Administration. Krishnendu Paul has been given the departments of Public Health Engineering, Hill Area Development and Barak Valley Development.

Expressed confidence in old colleagues

Dr. Ranoj Pegu has been assigned the departments of School Education, Higher Education, Tribal Affairs (Plains) and Information Technology. Sushant Borgohain has been given Water Resources and Judicial Department. Nilima Devi has got the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine and Fisheries Department. Piyush Hazarika has been given the responsibility of Agriculture, Irrigation and Parliamentary Affairs Department. Congratulating all the ministers, Chief Minister Sarma said that the government will further accelerate the development and prosperity of Assam with teamwork and dedication.
