Tragic road accident in Dubai, 7 Indian workers died
New Delhi: Several Indian workers lost their lives while many others were injured in a tragic road accident in Dubai on Monday. The accident occurred on Emirates Road when a minibus carrying workers collided with a truck parked on the road. The accident was so severe that there was chaos on the spot and many passengers suffered serious injuries. According to local officials, seven people have died in this accident, while nine others have been injured and are undergoing treatment.

Preliminary investigation by Dubai Police has revealed that the truck parked in the middle of the road had fallen victim to a technical fault. After the fault, the truck stopped on the road. Meanwhile, the minibus coming from behind could not see it in time and collided directly with the rear of the truck. The intensity of the collision was so high that the minibus was heavily damaged and many people traveling in it were seriously injured.
Brigadier Juma Salem bin Suwaidan, Director of the Traffic General Department of Dubai Police, said that a detailed investigation is being conducted into the cause of the accident. According to initial information, the bus driver did not exercise adequate caution and failed to maintain a safe distance between the vehicles, due to which the accident occurred. Officials say that a detailed report will be issued after the complete investigation of the case is completed.
After the accident, emergency services teams immediately reached the spot and the injured were admitted to nearby hospitals. The condition of many injured is said to be serious, hence the possibility of the death toll increasing cannot be ruled out.
The Indian Consulate in Dubai has also expressed deep condolences on this tragic incident. The embassy said through social media that the news of the death of Indian citizens in the accident is extremely sad and its condolences are with the families of the victims in this difficult time. Embassy officials reached the hospital and inquired about the well-being of the injured and coordinated with the local administration so that all possible assistance could be provided to the affected people.

The Indian Mission has assured that necessary steps are being taken to help the families of the dead and injured. At present the officials have not clarified how many workers were in the minibus at the time of the accident.
