Mamata Banerjee’s troubles do not seem to be reducing. MLAs and MPs are continuously abandoning him and now his closest and trusted confidant Kalyan Banerjee has openly expressed his displeasure. He clearly said that Mamata didi will have to decide whether she is with me or Abhishek Banerjee. Abhishek does not know how to respect senior leaders. He is very arrogant. Because of this the party has been ruined. He further said that " If Mamata didi has to depend only on Abhishek Banerjee then stay with her and leave me. If she chooses a different path from him, then I am with Mamata didi.
Why is Kalyan Banerjee angry?
The reason for Kalyan Banerjee’s displeasure is the fake sign case of TMC. He said, “I was told at midnight that the lawyers associated with this case have been changed. I was also among them. This is insulting.” Here, TMC Rajya Sabha MP Prakash Chik Badaik resigned on Thursday. In the last four days, three out of 13 Rajya Sabha MPs have left Mamata. Sushmita Dev had resigned on June 10. On June 8, Sukhendu Shekhar left Rajya Sabha membership and the party. Earlier, rebel TMC MP Kakoli Ghosh had claimed that 20 Lok Sabha MPs have formed separate factions. At the same time, 58 out of 80 TMC MLAs from Bengal have formed separate factions.
“What I will do in future, only time will decide.”
On the other hand, while talking to the media after his resignation, Prakash Chik said – The decision of the people in West Bengal was in favor of BJP. The party formed the government there. In my own constituency we could not win even a single seat. The results were not good in North Bengal also. Looking at this mandate, I felt that it is not right to continue in my post now. Therefore, I resigned from both my post and the party. Wait ahead, everything will be revealed with time. I am not old yet. What I will do in future, only time will decide. Kalyan Banerjee’s son Shirsanya Bandopadhyay said, “The problem is that Abhishek Banerjee cannot trust anyone.” He is not able to trust us either. He is trying to prepare a second line. He said that we have tried to help them wherever possible in the High Court, District Court, Sub Divisional Court.
Suspense on separate group of TMC MPs
The names of rebel TMC MPs have not been revealed yet. MP and rebel leader Kakoli Dhosh had claimed on June 8 that 20 MPs have decided to support the NDA. A letter of support has been given to Speaker Om Birla. After this, Kakoli along with some rebel MPs met Union Minister and BJP’s Bengal in-charge Bhupendra Yadav and also held a meeting with Bengal CM Shubhendu Adhikari in Delhi. After this, on June 10, a list came out which contained the names of 19 MPs including Sayoni Ghosh, Yusuf Pathan and Shatrughan Sinha. However, on June 11, Shatrughan Sinha said that he is with Mamata and TMC because they supported me in my bad times.
Relief for Abhishek Banerjee at the moment
Calcutta High Court has given interim relief to TMC MP and party general secretary Abhishek Banerjee in the fake signature case. The court has banned any kind of strict action against him for three weeks. However, the bench of Justice Kaushik Chanda has also directed Abhishek to appear at the CID headquarters Bhawani Bhawan in Kolkata by 6 pm today and join the investigation. On the other hand, Mamata also stayed in Delhi for three days, Abhishek Banerjee stayed in Delhi for five days. On June 10, Abhishek met Rahul Gandhi in Delhi, while on June 9, Mamata met Sonia Gandhi. Apart from this, he also attended the meeting of India Block.
