Manda/Prayagraj. Taking major action against the illegal drug trade in Manda police station area, the police have arrested two accused with 227 grams of illegal Alprazolam intoxicating powder. The value of the recovered drugs in the international market is said to be lakhs of rupees. Police have registered a case against both the accused under relevant sections and started legal action.
According to police officials, as part of the special campaign being run to effectively curb crime and drug trafficking, Manda police station was conducting intensive checking campaign in the area. Meanwhile, based on the information received from the informer, the police team stopped the suspicious persons and searched them. During the search, a total of 227 grams of illegal Alprazolam intoxicating powder was recovered from his possession.
During interrogation, both the accused could not give satisfactory answers, after which they were arrested on the spot. The police took possession of the recovered drug, sealed it and completed the necessary legal process.
Police believe that the arrested accused may be linked to the supply of narcotics in the area. In this regard, they are being interrogated thoroughly so that it can be found out from where the drug was brought and to whom it was to be supplied. Police are also investigating possible networks related to smuggling.
