‘No return, no salary’: Haryana Education Department’s strict order, these teachers will be punished

The state government has started tightening its grip on the teachers and other employees of the education department posted in government schools of Haryana. Despite repeated relaxations by the government and issuing of two big reminder notices, the system is not improving. The department is now fully prepared to take the strictest action against those teachers who have not yet registered the details of their immovable property (Property Return) on the government portal.

The Education Department has now made it clear that the next salary of such careless and lazy employees will be stopped with immediate effect. Regarding this strict decision, a final warning letter has been issued by the department to all the District Education Officers (DEOs) and Block Education Officers (BEOs) of the state, so that this order can be immediately implemented at the ground level.

Why did the education department have to take this drastic step?

According to government rules, it is mandatory for all government officers and employees to register complete details of their movable and immovable assets on the online portal within a certain time limit every year. The main objective of the government behind this is to maintain complete transparency at the administrative level and completely curb corruption. The Education Department gave two big chances to the employees to follow this rule and also issued necessary reminders, but despite this, hundreds of teachers and administrative staff did not take this order seriously.

The top officials are now angry at such disobedience to the repeated orders given by the department. This is the reason why the Education Department has now taken a very strict stance of ‘No Return, No Salary’ on the lines of ‘No Work, No Pay’. Officials believe that this negligence of the employees cannot be corrected without taking strict steps.

Strict instructions to withdrawal and disbursement officers for negligence

According to the new and final order issued by the department, if any employee does not file his property return online by the last due date, then the concerned Withdrawal and Disbursement Officer (DDO) will not be able to release the monthly salary of that employee under any circumstances. For this, the responsibility of DDO has been fixed directly so that no one can escape from the rules.

The Education Department has described this order as the last chance for all the defaulter employees of the state. Higher officials have made it clear that after this last opportunity passes, no new clarification or notice will be issued by the department, rather punitive action of withholding salary will be directly implemented. In such a situation, to keep their salary safe, teachers will have to complete this work as soon as possible.
