England changed the timing of T20, now at what time will the matches be played?
The Indian team is going to tour England next month to play a series of 5 T20 and 3 ODI matches. The T20 series will run from July 1 to July 11. The timing of 3 matches of this series has been changed. These matches were earlier scheduled to start at 6:30 pm local time, which will now start an hour earlier. According to Indian time, these matches will be played from 10 pm instead of starting at 11 pm.
The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has made this change to increase TV viewership. The ECB’s earnings are heavily dependent on high-value broadcast series. It is expected to make profit from the series against India. That is why it has changed the timings to increase TV viewership in India. The ECB has discussed with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), broadcasters Sky Sports (UK) and Sony Sports Network (India) before changing the timing of the matches.
