Big decision of Central Government before NEET exam, ban on Telegram platform till June 22

New Delhi. To make the re-examination of NEET (UG) 2026 fair and safe, the Central Government has imposed temporary restrictions on the Telegram platform across the country till June 22. This decision has been taken by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology on the recommendation of the National Testing Agency (NTA) under Section 69A of the Information Technology Act.

According to the government, this step has been taken with the aim of curbing alleged paper leaks, fake claims, cheating gangs and misleading messages before the examination. Apart from this, Telegram has also been directed to stop its message-editing feature in India till June 30, because according to the investigating agencies, this feature was being used to tamper with digital evidence and make fake claims.

NTA said that the Indian Cyber ​​Crime Coordination Centre, State Police and other agencies have jointly taken action against several Telegram channels and bots spreading examination related fraud.

The agency reiterated that no question paper of NEET 2026 has been leaked and all messages claiming to provide the paper are fake. Students have been appealed not to believe in any such greed or rumor and rely only on official information.
