The merit list of selected players for the academic session 2026-27 in the sports colleges of Uttar Pradesh has been released. Candidates will have to complete the medical examination and document verification process between July 3 and 6.
Lucknow: The admission process in all three sports colleges of Uttar Pradesh has crossed a new stage. After the release of the merit list of the Main Selection Examination for the session 2026-27, the selected players will now have to appear on the scheduled dates for medical examination and document verification. Merit list of sports colleges released
There is good news for the talented players of Uttar Pradesh. The merit list of the main selection examination for admission to the academic session 2026-27 in all three sports colleges of the state has been released. Selected candidates will now participate in the next stage of the admission process.
According to the college administration, the selected players will have to appear at the designated centers for medical examination and record verification between July 3 and July 6. Candidates can check the admission list and other guidelines from the respective official websites.
Medical and document verification mandatory
Medical examination of all selected players will be conducted to finalize the admission process. Along with this, verification of educational and sports related documents will also be done.
Candidates will have to bring with them original educational certificates, birth certificate, certificates related to sports achievements and other necessary documents. Officials have clarified that candidates who do not submit documents on time may face difficulties in the admission process.
Selection based on sports talent and physical efficiency
Players in the age group of 6, 9 and 11 years were evaluated in the selection process. In this, their physical ability, fitness level and performance in the respective sports were made the main basis.
The objective of the state government is to provide better training and sports facilities to talented players at an early age, so that they can represent the state at national and international levels.
Sports wise admission in all three colleges
This year, admission will be given on different seats in all three sports colleges for different sports. Players of athletics, badminton, cricket and football will get admission in Lucknow Sports College. Whereas in Gorakhpur Sports College, selection will be made for gymnastics, hockey, judo, volleyball and wrestling.
Saifai Sports College will provide training and education facilities to players of Kabaddi, swimming, handball, boxing and weightlifting. The players selected in these colleges get the opportunity for regular academic studies along with sports.
